| One of my husbands employees just had a baby and we want to give them food but don't want to intrude since we know how stressful those first few weeks are. Is anyone aware of a food delivery service? Possibly frozen meals? |

Someone did this for us after DS was born and it was HANDS DOWN the best gift.
the person giving the gift used Dinner Done http://www.dinnerdone.com/ and they delivered it and gave us a 4 hour window I think. We did the petite portions since there were only 2 of us. I thought it was tasty and best of all EASY. Store everything in your freezer and then go straight from freezer to oven in the pan. Easy, minimal clean up. Highly reccomend |
| If they live in the city, foodler.com. Someone gave us foodler bucks--basically, money to use for take-out/delivery--and it was great. But you have to check the address to make sure there are enough places enrolled in the service that deliver to the neighborhood they live in. |
| my MIL got us a gift cert for healthy bites, which is in our neighborhood but they do deliver. I haven't used it yet--was planning on using it for when I return to work and our lives get crazy again.... |
| Someone got us a basket from Zingerman's. It isn't frozen meals, more of a food gift basket, but the food is amazing! |
| We've used Doorstep Dinners . Good selection and the food is yummy. |
Zingermans is my go to gift for parents when they have #2 or 3. I don't sent the pre-made baskets. I send - 10 piece scone /brownie sampler (for guests), loaf of bread, kotzes PB + American spoon jam for the kiddos (after confirming they eat peanuts at thei house), pasta and sauce and some parm cheese for a quick dinner. All these items are on the "ships forn$9.99" section and it comes out under $100 with tax and shipping. It probably breaks a million taboos - sweets! Carbs! Peanuts! - but I check with the dad on any allergies/preferences before it comes and give them a heads up it is coming so the toddlers don't see the brownies and melt down when they don't get one right away. |
| I love Zingermann's too! It's so nice to have something to offers random guests or for middle of the night snacking. |
| Swanson's, or Swenson's...can't remember the name but they have everything. |
| Soupergirl.com |
http://www.schwans.com/ Schwans maybe? I've never ordered from them, but I see the truck in my neighborhood in Baltimore sometimes. |
No idea if they still make them, but asparagus and cheese stuffed breaded chicken breasts from Schwann's are a former guilty pleasure. |
| Second Soupergirl. |
Yes!! That's it. I was way off!

Costco's prepared food, much less expensive and tasted good.
WE also made a lot of smoothies, quick, easy, and tasty. |
