I went through the Intelliquote website which gave me quotes and data for several companies (there is also Accuquote). Then I chose which company I wanted to go with. The paperwork wasn't too bad and then I went through an in-home medical exam (basically height/weight, urine and blood tests). Hope this helps.

Our financial planner told us that term life insurance is a commodity and to go to one of the online sites and pick the cheapest one. We used insure.com which I think is the same as accuquote. The process was very simple and they came to my home to give me the medical exam. Took maybe a month in total but you can be insured as of the date that you apply I believe.

OP here... thanks. I had been nervous about those online insurance sites, but they seem to be helpful!

We got life insurance from Avraham Rappaport. He's very kind and not pushy and can help you get what works best for you and your family (he's also a Rabbi). Here's his cell phone if you want to give him a call. 443-790-6541

Try Keith Campbell @ Campbell Financial Group www.campfg.com. Keith came out to our house, discussed various life insurance plans at length-very knowlegable, honest, not pushy.
