Go to Urgent Care, ER, or Doctor Tomorrow?

Anonymous
My symptoms include but are not limited to:

severe joint pain, so severe I can't move much
high on/off fever
stiff neck
difficulty walking
sore neck/glands

Basically feels like I'm drunk or recovering from a beating. I can't decide if this is the flu or something more serious. I'd like bloodwork done but if I go to After Hours I'm not sure they do blood-work. Also not sure if this is worthy or an ER visit, even though I feel like death. Tomorrow I have to bring my twins with me anywhere I decide to go.

What would you do?

Go to the ER. Sounds like it could be meningitis. Not trying to be dramatic but fever and stiff neck would have me worried.

How long have you had these symptoms? Can DH go in to work later tomorrow afternoon?

Go to the ER.

PP again, don't take your twins into an ER or Urgent Care if you can help it. Go tonight while you have DH to watch them.

Symptons started last night this time. I forgot to add I have the chills on and off, and while I have them my fever goes up to 102. That makes me think flu but now i'm worried it's lyme after googling symptoms.

Does your doctor's office have an after-hours number?

OP please go to the ER while your husband can watch the kids. DON'T take your twins to the ER if at all avoidable.

urgent care or ER...anything to avoid taking the kiddos! I hope you feel better soon!!

I agree w/PP, ER tonight. They will rule out (hopefully) anything serious like meningitis - which, on the off chance you have it, you need to get treated ASAP. Hope you are better soon!

Ok, off to the ER. Holy Cross, Shady Grove, or the one in Bethesda? I'm central to all of them, any recommendations?

Another vote for the ER. Stiff neck and high fever sounds like meningitis. Probably only the viral kind but it could be bacterial which could put your kids at risk.
