FWIW -- I found that beechnut brand made baby spit up WAY less than gerber brand.

We used Earth's Best and I mixed it with breastmilk when I had some thawed, and water otherwise.

I am exactly the same as 14:20 pp. Earth's Best is Organic and uses brown rice which supposedly causes less constipation. I mix with BM if I have some handy, otherwise I use water. I don't specifically pump just for rice cereal.

I use Happy Bellies, which is organic and has probiotics. When DS first started solids, I mixed with BM, but now that he's older I mix with fruit/veg and some BM. I never specifically pumped just to make cereal, but he didn't start cereal until after I was back at work and pumping anyway, so I'd just use an ounce or so from one of the pumped bottles I was bringing home from the office.

We used Earth's Best, but quickly moved on to their oatmeal, my son seemed to like that much better.

I just bought the $2 box of Beechnut...good thing I didn't spend a lot of money because DD didn't like it much no matter how many attempts I made or to what ratio of BM.
We switched to rice cereal, homemade applesauce, pears, etc. instead.
