Does this type of counselor exist? And are they helpful?

My senior is undecided on a college major. They are very strong in math and science, but do not enjoy these classes.
The possible majors they have mentioned in college applications are Philosophy, Theater (technical design), and undecided. Has been accepted to some liberal arts colleges and also some major universities.
We are trying to provide guidance about possible careers. The high school guidance counselor gives some standardized tests, but that is about it.
Are there legitimate counselors who work with teens to help them discover a possible career course?

We worked with a woman a few years ago with our first child and then again when #2 needed direction on school choice. She used to be in DC but has relocated to MA. She was the perfect choice for our kids. Very in touch with today's kids needs, different personality types and kept me in the loop the whole time. With #2 she was able to send questionnaires, exchange emails with us and son, and talk on the phone. Let me know if you are interested and I can find her email, best $ spent, and it didn't cost the $500 plus of most people we talked to

Isn't this what college is for? Unless you are doing premed or engineering you don't need to decide now, you get to explore some options and see what you are interested in once you have studied at a more advanced level. While some 17 or 18 year olds know what they want to do, most do not. My DC is a college freshman and is now directed but a year ago had totally different ideas about what she wanted to do.

OP here, thanks for the responses. I might possibly want to follow up with the counselor suggested, if you still have her e-mail, I would greatly appreciate it!
Also, I agree about college helping a kid to find direction, I just wanted to look at all possibilities. I think it really gets to my teen sometimes that other kids seem to know exactly what they want to do and my kid is kind of flailing, if that makes any sense.
