One thread the OP is insulted that someone thinks their kid needs an iep even though she is asking about sped services. She has got her own problems. So really there is one active thread.

And there’s you. None of these are going to give parents new to DCPS and the special ed world any confidence that their child will be well-served.

the toxic self-contained teacher who rants about how much she hates white moms at every opportunity has definitely given me major qualms about remaining in dcps, that’s for sure.

It's really vile. I hope she's a troll because anyone that awful should never be around ANY kids. And her idea that the parent with a kid who has SN needs to just pay tens of thousands of dollars to replace what was lost this year. If I had to do it...I couldn't. We have $10,000 in savings total. I am clearly lower middle class here. There's no way I could have afforded the school services on my own if my kid needed them. Her advice just boiled down to "be rich."

I wonder if she is the same one who teaches in Ward 7, has been IP since term 2, and always makes everything about race? Then she also assumes everyone else here is white and lives in Ward 3, and of course everyone who lives in Ward 3 is rich.

Unfortunately, she's indicative of many WTU teachers on social media. Overall, WTU teachers are very poor caliber, as evidenced by the lack of proficient student test scores.
