Yeah, things will be so awesome. Hope you can continue living in your bubble. |
Nope, that not the real story. The real story is how whites aren't as outraged by the crimes of a white police officer and his underlings, in Chicago, systematically torturing 118 AA males and not a single word of outrage. It has nothing to do with racism. However, it has everything to do with selective outrage of some whites, depending on the ethnicity of the victim and perpetrator. If it is truly about the actions of the perpetrator, then the whites who are outraged by the topic of this thread, should be equally so when the victim of similar actions aren't white. |
They will still have all the money, and like it or not, that is what makes country what it is. So your dreams of brown domination will unfortunately not come true. |
Yes and the election of Trump has so much to do with fragile white egos. There is such a sad lack of self-awareness from large swatchs of white people. It's scary. I'm white, by the way. And I come from a poor, working class background. So I do have some empathy for that mindset. But it's so destructive. |
Uh, that story broke last year, and it all happened decades ago. It was appalling. There was the race aspect, but more awful was that it was police/state-sanctioned torture. What does that have to do with this? Nothing. |
I don't understand why this is a 16 page thread. It's a racially motivated crime against a disabled man -- these kids should be soundly punished, possibly under hate crimes laws (which apply to the disabled as well as racial categories).
This does NOTHING to change the fact that black people suffer systematic racism, and that minorities are the primary victims of hate crimes. |
I don't like Piers' anti-gun rhetoric, but this article is on point! Maybe kicking him out of the US got some sense into him. |
Well, what do you think we're talking about? You guys are using this incident apparently to prove that racism against blacks doesn't exist, right? |
The only time there is a lengthy discussion is if there are disagreements. Threads where everyone agree don't last long. You believe this is a racially motivated hate crime, I also believe this is plainly obvious. But there are people who disagree, OR they believe it's an okay tit-for-tat, OR they believe our outrage is misplaced and should be focused on white-on-black hate crime instead since that's more prevalent. |
Big deal. Shit happens. |
Pretty sure you wouldn't be so flip of your son was the victim. |
I seem to recall a controversy about torture; maybe during the Bush presidency . . . can't quite recall the details . . . But it was kind of a big deal. |
As we speak somebody's beating their wife...torture
As we speak somebody's abusing their kids...torture As we speak somebody's mistreating their dog...torture It happens everyday. Least the kid didn't die. |
Who hate white people.. |
