Another vote for In-N-Out. Sadly I don't think it is a franchise.
I'd love to get a Swenson's. It is big in Asia, but also found in a few states. I believe it started in CA in the 50s. I've never had the food but LOTS of the ice cream. In the states it seems like get food and ice cream, but all the Asian locations I've been to had just ice cream. There were plan to open one near GMU, but it looks like that has fallen through. |

Sorry, but a lot of these are disgusting Alice's with gross food.
Carvel? There is one in silver spring, I will eat pretty much any ice cream available, but this was like whipped goo Bennigans? Really? Steak n shake is in Frederick-and it's gross Just because you thought something was good when you were young has no bearing on if it actually has good food. |

Ruby's, NOT Ruby Tuesdays, the 40's diner that's mostly in Southern CA --but there are a few up in the Philadelphia area too.
A few years ago we made a day of going up there--lunch at Ruby's and then we visited Valley Forge. LOVE their milk shakes. http://www.rubys.com/ Also, Claim Jumper http://www.claimjumper.com/ another west coast chain... |

Taco Time
And Jack in the Box ...so good! |
For the love of all things holy....please bring a Rubio's here. As a California transplant I am salivating just thinking about their food. |
| If I had the momey I would open a Pigtails N Crewcuts kid's salon. those places are cash cows. |

Nothing special. I was desperate to buy a liittle gift for my husband in the Charlotte airport last week and a box of this chocolate is the best I could find. Underwhelming. |
They do! My sister took my kids there a few months ago and my 7 yo still raves about the "best hot dogs ever." My 2 yo has heard him talk about it so much that he asks loudly, in public, "are we going to wiener works today?" The big draw to visiting Grandma in NC now is wiener works. I grew up there and don't remember it. |
| I think a Which Wich is coming to Arlington. |

In-and-Out is privately owned, so a previous poster is correct, it's not a franchise.
It would never go over here anyway. The cups and wrappers are printed with Bible verse numbers and people here would have a conniption, sadly. |

Hmmm, did not notice that. |
They have penuche fudge that I really like. |
