If kids are meeting the other metrics they are not keeping them out of advanced math due to cogat. If Collette is low and other scores are low, obviously you’re not getting placed in intensified math. |
I don’t think all middle schools do them after 7th grade. My kid has not gotten a math placement letter since 7th grade. Never got one for intensified vs regular math. |
As an IQ test it is normed on a particular environment and that is not the environment that the post-covid kids got so it's not a reliable result. Because my kid was identified as having learning differences, we had her tested. Her CogAt was 95 with a mask on and her IQ was 127 about a year later in a normal testing environment. I've forgotten at this point but isn't there a short and long version and doesn't APS use the short? If yes, missing one question has a greater impact. Anyway, got my 7th grader's letter in "documents" today. |
