ICE agents wear badges. In every video I’ve seen, they either have those badges visible from the beginning or make it visible at the time of approaching the arrestee. If you have an example to the contrary, I’d be interested in seeing it.

Here is the problem with your assertion...these ICE raids are not targeting a specific individual (ie John Smith) but rather places where "illegals" might be located - Home Depot, the courthouse etc. so when you have some guy in a mask chasing you down and they are not showing a badge, they are not identifying themselves to the person they are trying to arrest. If that’s true then how does one verify that they are being detained or arrested by an actual federal agent? I can see a situation where someone defends themself (see the previous “stand your ground”) because they feel they are in danger.
