This person knows what they are talking about. Especially the part about certain players being coddled and the goalie issue. You are spot on.

Players being coddled is a leadership problem. If they don’t change, doesn’t matter who the coach is.

I think most can agree that FVU is last choice ECNL club in the MidAtlantic.

They will have the strongest 2013 and 2010 teams in VA but agree going forward they are going to have a real tough time getting talent.

Maybe 2013 but not 2010. Arguably the best 2010 this year, but they’ll have a new coach that will try to change the style of play and they were unable to add any difference makers. If they take another double digit loss in SD, players will leave in July.

I wouldn’t go that far lol. You talk like DMV futbol as a whole doesn’t suck. Some FVU age groups are solid on the girls side…. The boys side however…..

Well yes the boys side does suck and ECNL has that issue of keeping boys and girls together. This will hurt the recruitment of talented players on both sides and players are always looking to leave FVU.

2008: 9th place
2009: 5th place

2012: 5th place

Two top teams. Two competitive teams. Two bad teams. They don’t compare to top teams in TX or CA. But FVU compares favorably to any other ECNL or GA club in the DMV.

2010s play great soccer. And after watching 2012s play my DD team twice, and watching them at tournaments, that team is strong. Also my DD’s friends on 2013 say the FVU 2013 team will be the best in the DMV.

Also I can say all of this while also feeling good about my DD’s club and progress. I guess that’s called confidence. This forum could be great to share information and have discourse. But alas it’s a microcosm of society and caters to the lowest.
