Why are Republicans retiring? Is it moderate members leaving because they know there is no negotiating with the freedom house caucus? Or because they think democrats will sweep the elections? Just curious. |
That's a hell of a strategy... rather than deal with your own broken caucus, leave it to the Democrats to fix. |
If there’s one thing we know about republicans, it’s that they are cowards. |
And the second thing we know about Republicans is that they’re always leaving messes for the Democrats to clean up. |
There’s a lot of outstanding legislation - border security, Israel & Ukraine defense packages, etc - that needs to get done before the Election. Trump has come out against a lot of this stuff to try to hurt Biden, so Traditional Republicans would rather resign and hand Dems the House than be seen as going against Trump/cooperating with Democrats on a bipartisan basis. I think we will see Speaker Jeffries before Memorial Day and House Dems will ram through the outstanding bipartisan legislation that already been agreed upon by cooler heads in the Senate. |
Ew, no |
It was bad enough when the renamed DCA, that was already honoring President Washington, to Reagan.
That cost millions of dollars in new signage etc and was a slap in the face of air traffic controllers everywhere. |

Your taxes pay all of Congress. I’m all for renaming the airport since things are named after dead people. 🙂 |
