as an american, i find it so embarrassing when other americans act like 4 year olds and have a tantrum whenever someone questions 'how we do things'. america is weird AF. ridiculous to be defensive about it. |
| I do not mind this but rarely send mine as who has time for that? What I cannot stand is a play by play letter of their lives and the lives of their children, even their jobs. So weird. |
| The French send pictures of their families on strike. |
Exactly. |
This! And we display them during the holidays, along with the non-photo cards we get. |
| Don’t the BRF send out photo Christmas cards. You don’t have to display anything. |
| We send a photo card every year to our friends and love receiving them. I display them on a ribbon throughout the house. I hope none of you are my friends - jeez. |
| Ah yes. Please educate us on the correct way to live, O Wise European. |
| But why do people forego including a handwritten note with the photo card? I receive plenty of these photo cards, and enjoy the picture (and display it) but I also feel like it's thoughtless because there's no personal note. They're just sending them out in bulk to get the job done. I miss when people would say a hello in their own handwriting. I send regular "old school cards" to people every year and include a brief note. It takes time, yes, but that's the point. |
| Because we as Americans are an extremely narcissistic group that feel we must push ourselves upon others to be noticed and if we are not noticed we throw temper tantrums. As simple as that. |

Wonderful time to dredge this up! Summer! Everyone get your whites on at the beach for a family photo! |
| Same. I am from Europe and I find this custom so embarrassingly lower class. |
