Suggestions of where locally to buy a good new mailbox

Anonymous
Need a new mailbox, and would like something nicer than what's sold at Home Depot or Lowe's. I saw a couple online at Grandinroad and Frontgate, but wondered if there is a local store where I could go see and buy one. We're in Fx Co, VA. Looking for a traditional style post mounted mailbox for a brick center hall colonial. Would like it personalized with our house number as the plaque by our front door isn't easily seen from the street if you're in a car, and we have no sidewalks or curbs where the number is painted.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Try Walpole Woodcutters; there is one in Great Falls.

Op here. Just wanted to follow up to say that I did end up buying a mailbox and post from Walpole Woodworkers and am so very happy with it. It was actually less expensive than the ones from Frontgate and much better made. Called and ordered by phone after looking on the web site - originally thought I wanted a wood post, but the sales lady steered me towards the no-care vinyl. Looks just as good (not cheap and plasticky) and no maintenance - yay! Had it shipped to the store for free and picked it up to save the shipping cost (it was close for us). Had our landscaping guy install it. Ordered the custom house number/street name stickers - very easy to apply and looks perfect.

Just thought I'd follow up for any future posters who are seeking a mailbox recommendation!

We bought a gorgeous mailbox post from Frontgate. Didn't come with a mailbox (despite the hefty price tag) but we ended up getting the actual mailbox from Home Depot and it's really nice. It was one of the better mailboxes at Home Depot but they do have some nice ones. We blew the mailbox budget on the post so we weren't spending more than $100 on the mailbox itself.
