Your life is boring

Ever think that about someone else's life? While I know very interesting people I also know people who live very monotonous lives.

There is something about routine that I can't stand. I grew up in a city and moved to the suburbs as a child. The suburban life drove me insane. I now live in the suburbs again as an adult and still find myself trying to break out of routines. My husband, on the other hand loves routine.

Anyone relate? How do you get your 'fix'?

um, just go get it? Go to the city every now and then. How hard is that?

I thrive on routine. Why fight it?

Get a job where things are not routine.

Personally, I am bored of the "I am so bored" posts. Complaining about being bored is boring.

You be stuck in routines when living in a city too. So it's not where you live, it's how you think about things. Change your attitude.

Are you on drugs?

OP, I am with you. I was just thinking about it today. And exactly the same thing my husband loves routine but his life/work is not, and i hate routine and I have to keep up with it because of the kids and my kind of work. I am in my late 30's and starting to worry that it's not how to live life. I am getting bitter, and I have no idea how to change it. How? When I was younger I dreamed of going here and there now I even don't bother to dream. What's the point? It just like a teaser, so I even stopped dreaming. I lie to my old best loving friends that I am happy. I don't know why. I usually don't feel sorry for myself because of the routine that keeps me busy, but sometimes I wonder and cry like now...

I live in the city. Why did you move if you hate the suburbs?

At any point in your life, you have the power to say,

This story is not going to end this way."

You are the protagonist in your story. If you don't like the narrative, change it. Decide what thrills you, and pursue it.

Your life is boring if you allow it to be. Don't spend time lamenting here about it. Recognize the gifts, monetary or otherwise that you have, and understand that you have agency.

I don't mean to sound preachy, but this worked for me.
