| I have family coming to town who really want to try dim sum. Do you have a favorite spot? I live in Alexandria but am willing to travel. |
| Fortune dim sum in Falls Church is good, as is Mark's Duck house across the street. Both are in Seven Corners. Fortune is right next to home depot. My kids, 6 and 3, really love it! Tea and noodles, whoohoo! |
| Fortune at Seven Corners. |
| Also in seven corners is Hong Kong Seafood which also serves dim sum. |

Gaithersburg, House of Fortune
Also like the dim sum at Mr. Yung's in Chinatown. |
| Bangkok Joe's in Georgetown. It gets a plus for ambiance too. |

If you don't mind driving - right by Silver Spring metro station has a great dim sum place. There's always a long line waiting.
Oriental East Restaurant 1312 E West Hwy Silver Spring, MD 20910 Another one in Wheaton/Silver Spring area Silver Fountain 13533 Connecticut Ave Silver Spring, MD 20906 Enjoy |
| Ping Pong Dim Sum on 7th St NW |
| +1 for Oriental East |
| China Garden in Rosslyn is great. Go early the line gets long after 11:00 am. |
Thumbs down. Not even close to good. Only thing it has going for it is the phrase dim sum in its name. Its hipster meet food trend. |
| A & J in Rockville. |
It may be trendy, but I like it! |
| A&J also has a Annandale location that would be closer for you. Both locations are good. |

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. The online reviews for all these places seem to vary wildly, and there are several mentions of people being "ripped off" and not being able to do anything about it since the bill came in Chinese. So, I don't have high hopes but we will give one of these places a shot.
We are planning to go for dinner on Sunday night, with one child in tow. Keep the suggestions coming. I will post back about our experience. |
