What does a nervous breakdown look like?

Just wondering. I'm not having one, but am really trying to prevent heading in that direction. Dealing with death, illness, job loss and many more things. Have friends and support, but just wondering what it would like if I just cracked.

Nervous breakdown is the colloquial term for mental health crisis or mental illness crisis. It can look like depression, anxiety, a psychotic break. It can look like Brittany Spears or Jason Russell. You need to prevent it, not wait until you crack then deal with it as the damage will be done.

Definitely see a professional, even your family doctor if that is most accessible and figure out what will support your mental health during this incredibly stressful time.

A nervous breakdown I witnessed was a family member running around the house naked and then running around outside naked while yelling incoherently and then the police came and arrested him and put him in FFX hospital for a few days.
