Zappos free shipping policy...

Anonymous
I have never bought anything from them before but following the suggestions here for toddlers shoes, I just ordered almost $400.00 in shoes for my two year old (6 pairs). Of course I do not plan on keeping them all, only two or three.

Anyway, while I was researching which shoes to get, I checked other sites and the shoes cost $5 more (on average) at zappos. Anyway, I found it annoying.

People like you just want the world. They offer free shipping to get it to you, free shipping on the returns that you will use after you've messed up the merchandise...and now you are mad because the shoes cost a bit more?

What do you expect? How do you expect people to stay in business? They do have other costs besides eating the shipping fees you know. Do you know you are costing them money?

The prices are not annoying, customers like you are. Stay at Walmart please.

I ordered two pairs of shoes for my daughter on Sunday March 11 at 6 p.m. They were delivered to my house on Tuesday March 13 at 3 p.m. I did not select expedited shipping but I think they arrived pretty quickly. It's worth it to me to have superior customer service and speedy shipping.

Op here and I agree with you. I never said they were wrong and I was right at being annoyed at them... It's just that I thought I was getting a deal and was happy about it, and now I'm annoyed that it turned out, the free shipping is just a gimmick and it is all a wash in the end.... That is all.

Ditto. And the last couple times, I selected regular shipping, and they upgraded me to 2-day or even next day shipping for free.

If you don't like it, buy elsewhere. Sheesh.

Your shoes are not packaged and shipped by elves. It costs money

I love zappos. Yes, some shoes are more expensive, other shoes are less or the same. But the free shipping (i often get upgraded to free 2 day shipping - I'm a very good customer) is great.

Zappos is great. I like that they have multiple photos of everything and many items have videos. It just seems like a very well thought out customer service experience.

The free shipping is a gimmick because you don't get the shoes dirt cheap? Huh?

You know OP, since Zappos came into business, everyone gives free shipping. It's now all about free shipping. Thanks to Zappos. I love Zappos. Find yourself a little bodega where you can buy some crappy cheap shoes and shop there. Bye-bye.

I LOVE Zappos. I have wide feet & they have a huge selection. Every single time I've ordered with them, I get my merchandise the next day. I'll never enter a shoe store again. I read the reviews and make my order. If it doesnt work out, I slap that sticker on the box and drop it off around the corner at UPS. Customer for life....

It's not a gimmick because the $5 extra does not cover the cost to ship the shoes, the box the shoes are in, the shipping label on the box, the labor, and then if you return the shoes. However, sometimes you have to price your stuff a bit higher in order to absorb some of the costs. People go in business to make money, not to give it away.

Zappos delivers guickly, no shipping fee, no return shipping fee and spectacular customer service. You are bitching about the shoes being slightly more expensive than elsewhere?

It's worth it to get the shoes overnight - if you're VIP, you can order Monday and get the shoes on Tuesday. Sometimes they'll upgrade you for free for no reason. Also, the 365 day return policy is awesome because sometimes I'm forgetful.

YOU are the reason Zappos prices are higher for the rest of us. Thanks!
