I'm done with Kindle and all eReaders

eBooks are so fucking expensive, more than a paperback.

I'm done. Just ordered 5 paperbacks from Amazon. The kindle will now be used as a door stopper.

I've tried, but there always seems to be a wait for the books that I want to read. I do donate a lot of my great old books though.

And yes. If its still under warranty send it back. Even if it's not they offer to sell you a new one for cheap, $40 or so iirc.

There are tons of Kindle books that are 2.99 or less. Kindle even breaks them out for you. I'd never pay full price for a book on the Kindle.

Not sure what you're buying, but the ebooks (including new releases) are cheaper as ebooks than paperback.

I think I've only paid for 1 book since I've had my Nook and that was by choice. I have hundreds of books. Free books are easy to find. Just gotta know where to look......................

I really like my nook. But it reallys chafes my tush that when I purchase an ebook I can't share it with my household or lend it to a friend. Yes, I know some of the books on the nook can be lent, but it is only one time.

I fail to understand why purchasing an ebook takes away my rights as a consumer. When I purchase a paperback, I can read it, give it to my husband to read, share it with my friends, etc.

But if you go on amazon and buy from a used book seller sometimes you can get it really really cheap. That said, I have started using a kindle just because it's so convenient.

Sometimes I do too. But then I got the Steve Jobs biography for Christmas and it's HUGE. I would much rather read it on my kindle. (Were it not for the fact that it was a Christmas present from in-laws who don't use technology, I would never have gotten that bio in paperback. Just seems wrong.)

Yeah, but are they books that I haven't read in high school and college? If I want to read something relevant, I'm willing to pay for it. Plus, don't even get me started on the fact that authors SHOULD get paid.
