If you don't wear your seatbelt

Why not?

Do you put your children in seatbelts?

It will be interesting if you get any responses, because I thought almost everyone wears a seatbelt these days.

However, my husband never used to wear a seatbelt. He was born in the Middle East, and seat belts are just not a concern, even though the traffic there is horrifying. I asked him to start using it when I was pregnant, because I wanted both of us to set a good example for our kids. So he's been wearing one ever since.

And yes, he's always buckled up the kids.

Someone on a Gen Parenting thread is claiming they don't wear one and the OP of that thread has a friend who doesn't and whose kids don't. I was shocked.

I don't in my own car. My boobs are huge.

That does sound uncomfortable. Do they make contraptions that would help the belt work better for you?

What do you do when you have passengers?

Ever since Princess Diana died in that car crash, I wear the seatbelt, whether I'm the driver or a passenger.

I wonder how those huge boobs will look in your casket, at least they will be firm when you get killed in the car wreck and get mangled.

I know someone who works doing delivery so he's in and out of his van all day. He says the police pay special attention because they know this. It's common for delivery drivers to get fined.

I absolutely HATE when people hop into my car and pretend they can't hear the annoying beep telling them to wear the damn thing. GAH!

I usually tell people who don't wear it in my car "I'll be really sad if you die but I will be SUPER ANGRY if I get a ticket because you don't have your seatbelt on"

It's usually enough for them to smile and buckle up.

Why? Are the paparazzi stalking you on motorcycles?

Ugh, you just summed up my mother except she does this in her own car. Then, the noise gets to her so she proceeds to try to put on her seatbelt one-handed while driving, which is not an easy process because she is very overweight. Lots of jerking and swaying in the road. Total nightmare. Totally unrelated, but she also never changes her clocks for daylight saving. Nope, too much work for her. Drives me batty on both accounts.

My mother died in a tragic car accident(she was wearing a seatbelt but still), if my boobs were that big that it hurt to wear it I would have a reduction. I don't think it sets a good example for children if you don't bother wearing it yourself. What does you son think "oh mommy doesn't wear it I don't have to either" he doesn't understand your huge boobs.
