Question, I'm headed to my first IVF cycle and after everything I heard, I thought there were so many drugs! but the nurse said i'm on 2 stimming drugs (can't remember their name), the HSG trigger, and the anti-ovulation shots. Plus prometrium after the transfer.
Does that seem right? I hope so- I'm not looking to take more drugs than necessary- but obviousy want to make sure this is right. Thanks! |

Yep that's what I was on for my first cycle. Then for the second, I was only on one stimming drug.
It will feel like a lot when you are shooting yourself up three times a day (Lupron in the AM, two stims in the PM). |
| 18:49 here. Meant to end on a more positive note than that! GL to you! |

Let's see...I was on Follistim and Menopur, Cetrotide (anti-ovulation drug) and Ovidrel. I never thought of it before but yeah, it doesn't seem like that many drugs, does it? Now, you may have to take some thngs after transfer like prednisone or doxycycline. And of course, the Prometrium. But yes, this sounds about right.
Good luck!! |
|
I only had Cetrotide and Gonal-f and mini-Ovidrel, plus Ovidrel for trigger and prometrium suppositories.
Didn't do very well but I think that's my age not necessarily the protocol. We are adding estrogen the next cycle for estrogen priming. |

Of course, every protocol, PATIENT, and RE is different. Typically most protocols include: 1) Stims such as follitism/gonal-F and menopur. 2) Ovulation drug such as certitude/ganarelix. 3) Trigger shot. 4) Prometrium/endometrium for after the transfer and on some cases PIO shots (progesterone in oil shots.) 5) Doxycyclyn before/after retrieval (to prevent possible infection.) 6) Baby aspirin after the transfer. 6) I have also been on (not at the same time, though. I have been through too many IVF cycles)......birth control pills, dexamethazone, HGH (human growth hormone,) estrogen pills.
Good Luck |

When the package comes, it will look like a lot.
I only did bcpills, Lupron, Gonal-f, ovidrel, the pio after. |
| Op here. I just checked snd I'm taking menopur, Braille, ganidrex (or some anti ovulation ?) hsg shot and pro truism after. Does that sound right? |
|
I think you've been attacked by an automatic spell checker, OP. Braille? Do you mean Follistim? And the other drug is called "Ganerelix."
Not to be snarky but: if those are the drugs they said you're taking, those are the drugs you're taking, right? Don't try to add something to your protocol that you don't need. That's plenty of drugs, trust me. It's not the variety of drugs that go into an IVF protocol, it's how much you might have to take.
Again, good luck! |
| I'm guessing she meant braville? |
That's a better guess.

| OP here. Thanks for all the responses. Yes, i meant Braville. |
