Ped & childcare recommendation in Shirlington area

I'll deliver in June and hoped to get some recommendations on pediatricians and childcare options in the Alexandria area. We live in Fairlington so I'm open to Alexandria or Arlington but I work in Old Town, go to Physicians & Midwives and will deliver at INOVA Alex so I guess Im leaning toward Alex.
PEDIATRICIANS: If possible I'd prefer to find someone who has privileges at INOVA Alex. I looked up docs on this site and came up with Dr. Brendan Sullivan. Does anyone have feedback about him or his INOVA Alex privileges? I tend to be fairly low-anxiety but I want clear and reliable answers available to me as needed. I like people who are warm (like everyone does I guess) but practical, informative and direct as well.
CHILDCARE: I unfortunately need to go back to work right away. I think my mom will help us a couple days a week and I hope to stay home one day so I'm looking for somewhere with flexible hours (i.e. we can pay for only a certain number of days/wk and, ideally, choose those days on the fly (although that may be to good to be true). I also plan to look into nanny-shares but wanted to know my options. Any ideas on places between Old Town and Fairlington?
