That’s a little unfair - JLo was married 10 years to Marc, that’s not an insignificant amount of time. |
They were together for 7 years - they separated in 2011 and divorced was final in 2014. https://www.insider.com/jennifer-lopez-marc-anthony-relationship-timeline-2021-7#2004-the-couple-ended-up-back-together-4 Looks like they met/became friends in 1998, but each married/got engaged to other people in the meantime (J Lo was with Ben Affleck 202/03 to 2004) then got together and got married quickly. They had the twins in 2008 and separated 3 years later. |
PP here. I guess it all depends on your perspective and background. Multiple marriages and blending families with fiances like Marc and J Lo have done do not equate to longterm commitments IMHO. |
Cheers to the happy couple!

| Again? How many times do they have to get married? |
And on a plantation? Ewww. |
All the times. Every time there isn’t enough paparazzi waiting outside their door, they will get married again. |
| Well with her track record I give it 8 years. |
Wearing a white dress for the 5th time. She has no shame
|
I think that’s optimistic. The vast majority of fourth marriages end within five years. |
Yeah, I don’t get People magazine’s insistence on using “plantation” style like it’s the 80s. Especially since one of Ben’s ancestors was a slave-owner, a discovery he tried to bury on PBS finding your ancestry documentary. Ben apologized for it, but I bet he is cringing to read People’s clueless descriptor. |
It was designed and built (before Affleck bought it) to be “plantation style.” If he didn’t want the wedding to be labeled “plantation style”, maybe he shouldn’t have decided to hold the wedding on his “plantation style” estate a few miles from where his ancestors owned slaves. |
Yeah, you’re right. Tone deaf and a paradox given his bonafides as a Democrat and a co-founder of the Eastern Congo Initiative. However, he IS a college dropout where a lot of us learn how to at least make an effort at being politically correct. |
