Janney Elementary After Care?

My son will be starting pre-K at Janney this fall and I"m a little nervous about the aftercare program, because all the all the kids are together in the gym. Has anyone else had experiences with the program? I'm just a little worried about my little guy being with and/or around big kids for a few hours every afternoon.

I have no experience with the program, but I will also be sending my 4 yo to aftercare as well. For what its work, I learned from the people that run the program that as of a week ago there were 13 PK students enrolled in the program. I am hope that with this number of kids they will be able to keep them together and away from some the the older kids.

If I am not mistaken these programs are required to provide a seperate space for younger students PK and K -that is how it is for our DCPS aftercare
