Every memo or brief I've done is collaborative, as in either I do a draft and then it is edited many times by one or more attorneys, or I write small pieces of briefs or memos or no the whole thing. That's just the way it is in my practice group and at my level. So what can I use as a writing sample?
Use your original draft, before it gets edited.
I would use your best anonymous post on DCUM.
Ditto. Or if you wrote a couple pages of brief, you can use that portion. |
I have a similar problem in house. Most documents are either edited multiple times, or too proprietary to use. I'm left with project documetns that are pretty boring!
And with my typos as you can see!
Your draft is work product, I would beware sending it out unless redacted into anonymity.
I agree with this. I would just send out something where the final draft reasonably reflects your work. |
I'd still use the draft, but I assumed it would be heavily edited for anonymity -- pretty much goes without saying, I thought.
Do what everyone else does, used the final product.
