new to this, hoping moms can help! is there a online resource that rates nursery schools in MD/DC? (Provider, child ratio), cleanliness, activities, etc.

Full day or part day? Quality of nursery school is so subjective that I don't think a list like that could exist. If you're looking for part day, location really matters. I suggest that you ake a list of all the schools that serve the right age within about a 10 minute drive, talk to friends and neighbors, and visit them.
