Kid friendly restaurants in the North Bethesda and Rockville areas

Anonymous
My husband and I recently had a baby. We've always loved going out for good food and nice cocktails and want to continue doing so. Before the baby was born, our friends encouraged us to get the baby used to going out so he will know how to behave at restaurants and we can continue to do what we enjoy. I prefer to go to child friendly places so if our son starts to cry I won't completely ruin someone else's meal. Of course, if he melted down, we would leave.

Any suggestions on kid friendly restaurants in the North Bethesda and Rockville areas with good food and a decent beer/wine/cocktail selection? Not looking to get drink-just to have a drink with dinner.

Thanks in advance.

matchbox is pretty good and no one would bat an eyelash if your baby started crying.

Lebanese Taverna has the most amazing casual versions of their restaurants. They are supr kid friendly (provide coloring), my kids love the food, an the adult options are actually pretty good. It's our #1 go-to.

Take the kid to places you would normally go.

If it isn't CityZen or Minibar, you'll be fine.

Really.

This. All the resaurants are fine w/kids. Dogs, not so much. But at Barnes & Noble your dog can pee on books with impunity!

Seriously. I had one friend who was startled to discover DC had been to Central more than she had!

Silver Diner in Rockville is really excellent for a family meal. It sounds like a greasy spoon, but it has very fresh ingredients and healthy meals. We went last night. My kids splt a "kid's meal" of grilled teriyaki salmon, brown rice and vegetables (plus a side of sweet potato fires). I had fish tacos and my husband had a chicken cheese steak. Plus, a juke box with fun stuff for the kids! All of this for less than $40, including tip.
