Vent: Charities and Data Collection firms calling after 9

| Ugh, I know that there are groups that are not subject to telemarketing calls, but seriously, why would they think I would give them time or money after 9 pm (or any other time for that matter but it's really annoying when they call late)? Baby and DH are in bed asleep; I am getting the only me time of the day. A data firm just called wanting to ask questions; who seriously thinks I'm going to spend my time giving them a product they will aggregate and sell? Maybe if you cut me a check for my time...And the worst is the people calling on behalf of charities from their home phones. They don't pay attention after you've asked them not to call and then the caller ID looks like it's an actual person. And yes, we do give a good amount of money to charity, but who would give someone a cc number over the phone? The ones that do telemarketing aren't really good charities to donate to anyway. |

Only happened to me once - the person asked me how I was and I said "tired because it's late" in a grumpy sort of voice.
He got off the phone! Sometimes I do wonder if they might be burglars seeing if we're home, but maybe I'm paranoid... |
