we're looking at a home in Cleveland Park in Hearst boundaries. My question is: what school does Hearst feed into for grades 4 onward? I can't seem to find this information on the DCPS website.
Also, can someone offer general thoughts - good and bad - about Hearst? thanks. |
I think it might depend on where you are within Cleveland Park -- we are in Hearst boundaries, but a little north of the school, and we'll feed into Murch for 4th grade. I think if you're south of Hearst, you might feed into Eaton instead. |
I would double check your understanding that Hearst students still have the choice of Murch at 4th grade. I have been told recently that is not the case. I recommend asking the principal of Murch, not Hearst. |
This is 16:09 here -- I'm confused by your post, 14:34. I didn't mean to suggest there was a choice at 4th grade, just that I thought that where you feed into at 4th grade still depends on where you live - is it in-bounds for Murch at that point or for some other school? All the older kids I know of on my block go to Murch, so I assumed that's where my son would go, too -- and I could well be wrong - will try to check at some point, but my 1 year old is far enough away from starting school that whatever the rule is now may not be the rule when it's relevant for us ... But if you have been told that no Hearst students enter Murch in 4th grade and that they all go elsewhere, or something else, would you mind sharing? I would be interested to know what you were told - thanks! |
