Does anyone know how the logistics work for this?
I am looking to change drs (not currently pregrnant - but starting to try). I was a patient at GT in the past and they always have someone on call so billing is 'simple'. If I select a dr who delivers at Sibley - but they are not able to get ot the hospital "quick enough" is there someone always at Sibley to support emergencies? I ask this b/c my labor has been very fast in the past - Between 1st sign of labor and delivery = less than 1 hour. I am not sure how much this really matters - as delivery for me is a really small part of the pregnancy window (shorter than my wait to see my dr this morning for my annual - but that is another story) Also - any recommendations for an ob/gyn who delivers at Sibley? Thanks |

The doctors at the practice of Reiter and Hill deliver only at Sibley.
Search Reiter and Hill and you will see all of the comments others have posted about them. Generally, some folks think they are too much a factory and not personalized enough, and that some of the doctors are not as personable as others, to put it nicely! however I have heard that even those less-personable doctors are quite good when it comes to the delivery room. If you go to that practice, you can either go see the same doctor virtually all the time, if you find someone you really like, or you can try to see them all, because whoever is "on call" will be the one who delivers your baby, and so some people want to make sure they have seen all the doctors there. I usually go to the Falls Church practice, which I find to be less busy and hectic than the downtown office. They also have a Chevy Chase (I think?) office that some people have said they like as well. I've been happy with the practice thus far in my pregnancy. |

I delivered at Sibley last August with doctors from Reiter and Hill. As far as I can tell, R&H's practice is so big that there is always a R&H OB at Sibley. I was induced and was able to schedule it for a day when my favorite OB would be there. Sadly, she stayed two hours after the end of her shift and I still hadn't delivered, so I was passed on to the OB taking over. (We refer to her as "that 14-year old that delivered our daughter). She wasn't the greatest at instilling confidence, but she did a great job. There is also an OB employed by Sibley itself in case of true emergency.
If you search for Reiter and Hill, you'll get a LOT of responses. I personally loved them. And the gist of the opinions seem to be that Johnson, Jackson and Mauhngman are great. Moxed reviews on others, and stay away from Dr. Reiter! |
| Yes, there is always an OB on call at Sibley for when a laboring woman's doctor can't make it there on time. |
