Planning a one week vacation in April. I've never been to Charleston and would love to go but DH prefers Wilmington on the basis that it is closer and (he says) just as nice. What do you think?

Wilimington DE or Wilmington NC?
Although come to think of it, I would go with Charleston in either case. |
| We vacation in at one of the Brunswick Islands every year and do some things in Wilmington. NC Aquarium is OK. Battleship is great. Can't think of what else you would do down there in April. Golf. There are some gardens to go to. Azaleas that time of year. Maybe there's a studio tour? It seems like it would be too cold for the beach. I know nothing of Charleston but a whole week in Wilmington with no beach option sounds like a lot of time to fill. |
| This isn't close. I love time on the beach in Wilmington, but Charleston has SO much more going for it. Absolutely beautiful in April. |

Definitely more to do in Charleston, other than the beach in Wilmington and it will likely be too cold for that in April. Although you could do other water activities- charter a boat, etc. Charleston has a great downtown area with shopping and dining, very southern and charming.

| Another vote for Charleston! |
+1! |
| Charleston! We stayed in Kiawah Island last year for spring break. It was 89 degrees the first day and in the high 80s the rest of the time. It was great b/c we got to go the beach everyday. |
