Western High School Boundary Map options (A/B/C/D)

The comment was that people at Oak Hill wanted to stay at Chantilly and knew they didn't have the choice but the Crossfield families at Oakton might be able to stay at Oakton. My response was that Oak Hill is geographically closer to the Western HS then Crossfield is and that Crossfield is on the edge of the boundary area the County is considering. I didn't say that there were not closer HS to Crossfield, only that Oak Hill is the closest ES to Western and is at a HS that is overcrowded.

Most Crossfield neighborhoods are closer to Western than Coates and McNair, and many are closer than the eastern part of Fox Mill Estates.

I get that you want your Crossfield kids go to Western. But Crossfield is not closer to Western than Coates and McNair.

So, all the Crossfield kids live at the school? You do know some of them live pretty close to 286/West Ox Rd--less than two miles from Carson? Some are near 286/Franklin Farm Rd. In other words, a very large portion of Crossfield kids live VERY near the new school.
So, the distance is a wash.

But, the fact remains, it makes no sense to send them to Oakton.

I’m not disputing your view on whether or not Crossfield should attend Oakton or not. However, all the boundary review discussions have focused on the distance between ES and HS not individual neighborhoods. Crossfield is being considered for rezoning to Western because it slightly beats out Navy for furtherest ES away from Oakton.
