Just got back from a fab trip to Montreal. If you go or are thinking about it, try the Hotel Gault. New-ish hotel in historic building. It's like living in the Design Within Reach catalog with great breakfast food and unobtrusive yet attentive service you want to take home with you. They have summer deals and are quick to upgrade.
For food & wine, try Pullman. Think Cork, but with French accents and a slightly more glam/hip feel. The grilled cheese - seriously - is divine. For brunch, you cannot leave the province without going to L'Express. Even the customs agents were raving about it. Sure, Canada's the same cost as the US these days, but for a direct flight in under 2 hours, not a bad way to spend some frequent flyer miles. |
