Too late to buy a quilted black jacket?

I generally am late to invest in clothing trends...I am afraid by the time I decide to follow a trend, it is on its last legs. I see a lot of Bethesda moms in quilted dark jackets (playground, kid's activities) and I am a DC WOHM who is more of a parka (think Land's End or REI) or belted wool thigh length trench person, or fleece with jeans on weekends. But I like the way those jackets look, casual but not sloppy. Is it too late, are they about to go out of style? And where is a good place to shop for one?

if you like it, go for it. i think they're cute and timeless. i don't know where you buy them though -- check out nordstrom.

Lands End actually has great quilted jackets-- form fitting, not frumpy, and well-priced. A very stylish friend once mistook mine for Prada (presumably because she has never looked at a LE catalog before ).
