Reccommend your favorite pillow for a growing tummy!

Anonymous
Hi,
After several sleepless nights, I think its time to investigate a better pillow solution to support the growing belly and changing body. I'm not sure if its best to just use regular pillows or worth the $$ to invest in one of the specialty pregnancy pillows. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks!

For my DS, I refused to buy a maternity pillow and ended up propping myself up with a bunch of regular pillows. Unfortunately, they did take up a lot of space in the bed and tended to shift out of place during the night. With my soon-to-be DD (I'm currently 25 weeks) I ended up buying a Snoggle maternity pillow a few weeks ago and love it. Wish I had it the first time around. It doesn't take up as much space as I thought it would and really keeps me lying on my side by supporting my back.

I second the Snoogle pillow, I love it. It is the best item I have bought since I became pregnant

By the way, if you get a Snoogle pillow, just get the regular one, not the "All-nighter." I got the "All-nighter" and after trying to use it for one night am going to return it. It took up more than half of my queen size bed. The regular Snoogle looks more reasonable, though.

I've found that a king size pillow works well. It can fit between your knees and support your stomach since it's so long.

The regular snoogle made everything better. Wish I had gotten it sooner than 36 weeks.

I also found that a king pillow does the trick. I am currently 34 weeks. I put it between my legs and not so much under my belly but pressed against my belly. Kind of hugging it. I am sleeping quite comfortably, what I really need is a catheter so I don't have to get up and pee all the time!

My husband got me a snoogle at babies r us. It was the best present ever! Sometimes when I get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, he steals it just for a few moments, it is really THAT comfortable.

My mother in law sent me one of those foam wedge pillows out of the blue, and while I made fun of it at first, it turns out I LOVE IT. Since it has a gradual incline, you can kind of sleep half on it with the slope supporting your belly. Its too big to use in bed on both sides ( at first I only used it on the sofa), but I have figured out how to put the tallest edge along side my edge of the bed and then just sleep with my back to my husband. I am thinking of trimming the extra length off it so its a bit less awkward, but I haven't done it yet.
