| Has anyone used the baby b'air flight vest for an infant on a flight? Does it seem like a safe option if you don't have a seat for your baby? |
|
I'm bumping this in light of the lap child discussion thread. I'm honestly interested in opinions or reviews from those who have used it on flights. We're looking into for an upcoming international flight.
TIA. |

We didn't buy a seat for our 13 month old on an upcoming flight, partly because she'll likely scream continuously if we try to put her in one, and we already have a seat to use in the car on the other end of the flight. We've bought her seats on her 2 earlier flights.
We're going to use a baby b'air. We used it once with our older child, it is just okay, but I think better than nothing with a lap child. However, I'm not sure how it would work with a tiny infant, it seems more designed for a child who can sit up on your lap. |
| You're not allowed to use it on takeoff or landing. One of the dangers of a lap child is not just them flying out of your arms but if they do not fly out of your arms they're in what is called your "crush zone" -- it doesn't rectify that problem. |
| 13:02 here. Thanks for the info. We're planning to use it for our 12mo. I'm less concerned about the flight there as it will be overnight and I'm hoping/expecting she'll sleep for most of it (based on past flight experiences). I might even keep the Ergo on, post-takeoff, to keep her snuggled for sleeping. But it's the way back that I'm focused on, and she's getting pretty wiggly now. So if anyone had experience with an older child/toddler using one of these, I'd really appreciate hearing about that. |
