I am so bummed/upset that a big cooler fell on my big toe yesterday. It is still hurting and turning darker. Arggh! I have class today and a huge samba workshop in a week. rghhh...I am so mad that I hurt myself. I need my toe to samba! What am I going to do?! I have 50 people showing up expecting me to dance on my tippy toes. I am soooooo bummed : ( I am praying I don't have to cancel it. Do you think in a week I will feel better if I stay off it? WHat are your toe dropping experiences?

seriously?

You are going to just have to wait this out and see how you feel. Unforunate and I am sorry, but I think you will survive.

i know, i am just mad and kind of venting. I put so much into this workshop. SO I can wiggle my toe, but feel alot of pressure under the nail, which is turning blue now. I can walk if I don't put any pressure on my toe. I tried to salsa, and can do it very very lightly. But still looking for someone to take over for me. : (

You may lose your toenail. I dropped a desk on my toe a few years back, lost the toenail, broke the toe and pretty much couldn't do anything about it. The toenail has never been the same--it's very ridgy and much thicker than it was before.

Good luck.

I kicked a soccer ball with my toe last summer. It was sorta like turf-toe. My toe throbbed like crazy. Within 48 hours I was able to walk normally again, but sorta walked on my heel until then.
The toenail was damaged. It took exactly one year for the toe nail to "move up" the damaged section (which was in the middle) and that section fell off just last month. The only part that really hurt was the initial impact and the 48 hours after that.

good luck.
