Does anyone have any information about how to get your child into another district? We have one card to play, the school that we want to attend has very few people of our race. The school that we are trying to avoid has many many people of our race. We want to change because of work situations that would make it easier.

It's called change of school assignment/COSA. Lots of threads about it so do a search. Also good info on the MCPS website. I think the work aspect will help you more than the race card.

Your one card to play..isn't. Your work situation is not at all compelling, either. Perhaps, if you want to move from a more desirable to a less desirable school (in terms of enrollment numbers), you might have a "card" to "play". As the PP suggested, google COSA.

Just fill out the paperwork. Work situation is a work situation. As long as they have room they do not have a reason to turn you down

Seriously, another one of these threads? Search for COSA on this forum. I think the general rule is... fill out the paperwork and cross your fingers. It has more to do with the schools involved than you.

Your "card to play" sounds weird and racist, and I would keep that one in my sleeve, if I were you.
