A rash and really stiff joints?

Anonymous
I was told this is just a reaction to a virus (one of the many making the rounds). I am itchy all over and the stiffness has been moving from neck to elbows to wrists and now my knees and ankles, ugh!
Anyone had this? It's very odd

Could be Parvo B19....
Adult version of Fifth's.

Rash & arthritis are features. Arthritis can last for months, especially in women.

Have you been around any kids with really rosey cheeks lately?

Not that I know of, but with 2 kids under 6 it's quite possible

I have Parvo B19 now. Started with a nasty flu-like illness with painful joints and fever. Few days later got a reticular rash. Then the itching. The weakness and exhaustion werr bad. Now a month out I'm still dealing with arthritis and have very little energy. Doc says this could last for months. I also had a rare complication where it attacked my bone marrow and my platelets and WBCs as well as RBCs were really low. I recovered from that within a week but my counts are still low normal.

It's hard to believe that this minor childhood virus (fifths causes just a bad cold and red cheeks) can really take out an adult like this.

These virus are a lot worse this year because we never got any deep freezers or snow to kill them off. The
Norovirus is especially insidious this year. There are out brake reports nightly in the news.

My friend, who suffers from an autoimmune, has rashes and stiff joints.
