I KNOW this has been posted to death. . .
I have been having Braxton Hicks all day. I can talk through them, and they come about every half hour. Did any of you have this go on for days? I have read so much about "practice contractions" that I am reticient to think this is real labor. . . |
Everyone says you know when it's real...no need to ask. I have braxton hicks constantly but it doesn't mean anything. Mine don't hurt, but it can get pretty uncomfortable from the tightening. |
Mine went on for three days before I knew without a doubt oh my god this is the worst pain I've ever been in that I was in labor! |
When you're in labor you will absolutely not have to ask "Is this labor?" Best wishes! |
There were many days when mine went on all day. |
You should time them to see if they are getting closer together. |
can someone explain what a braxton hicks contraction feels like so I can recognize it and compare it to a real contraction. |
Braxton hicks can feel just like a regular contraction, except they do not dialate your cervix and when you change position, drink water, etc., they go away. |
Agreed with the other posters about knowing when it's the real thing. But, until then, I would describe braxton hicks as your stomach tightening until it is hard like a rock. I am 31 weeks and have them very frequently - although they only last a few seconds. My dr. said to call if I have more than 6 in one hour. |
