Please no haters. I'm being serious. I want to jumpstart a weight loss program.
Any suggestions/ links to websites/ advice etc. |
| Me too. Please give us advice. |
| Lemonade diet? Lemons, cayenne pepper and grade b maple syrup. |
|
I want to hear from people that have done it before, what they thought of it, results, pros, cons, stories, etc. Is the lemonade diet a 3-day? or 10 day?
I have NO self control with food. I'm not heavy or overweight, average (5' 5", 145 lbs), but I want to lose 15 lbs. I honestly have been so out of shape lately, and have tried everything. Yes, I know, exercise god dammit. I am trying. I have started running, but even that I am already sick of. I'm going to keep with it, but I am just curious about cleanses. Thanks |
| I haven't done a cleanse, but I happened to see this on Dr. Oz's website when looking for a recipe. http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/48-hour-weekend-cleanse. Doesn't seem too radical, which made me give it a second look. If you decide to do it (or any type of cleanse), be sure to post back and let us know how it went. Good luck! |

I second the Master Cleanse. I've just ended my 10th day and I'm still going strong. Great jumpstart to losing weight!!
8-10 oz water 2 Tbsp Grade B Maple Syrup 2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper Drink this as often as you feel hungry. No eating. |

i did the colonoscopy clean out--- lots of miralax and gatorade--- and then did the master cleanse lemonade concoction.
make sure you use grade B syrup. |
| Just came off the master cleanse and was told to use grade A maple syrup - why do you say b? Worked well for me - I felt GREAT, not hungry after the first day or two, and lost a bunch of weight. Will do it again someday for sure. Finally got rid of the rest of the baby weight (and some extra) just before DB's 2nd birthday. Ha. |

OP here.
I am trying the 3 day diet. The link is above (23:08). It's hard because I have terrible self control with food. I already messed up- I drank french vanilla coffee instead of regular (FV has 110 calories per cup). I currently weigh 144 lbs (as of this a.m.) and am 5'5". I will check back with everyone on Saturday night (end of day 3) and see how I feel. |

A short cleanse is a great way to jump start weight loss. I would suggest not doing something as extreme as Master Cleanse without supplemental support from someone like a Naturopathic doctor. Since I know you mentioned wanting something inexpensive I would suggest an anti-inflammatory diet. If you could do 5-7 days instead of three then it would make a big difference. Essentially you remove alcohol, caffeine, dairy, and gluten from your diet. In addition, and to facilitate detox, you take regular epsom salt baths, exercise to sweat, castor oil packs, and drink half your weight in ounces of water per day. This is far less extreme than most diets and yet most people lose weight and feel like a new person (I speak from experience.) The problem with extreme cleanses is that they do purge toxins out of organs but without support for those organs the toxins go into the bloodstream and then back into your organs again, leaving you back where you started. The Naturopathic DR I see did a talk on this type of detox which you can listen to (for free!) Here's the link:
