Church help

I'm not sure if this belongs in this thread, but hopefully someone can help. I am looking for a progressive church in the DC metro area. No fire and brimstone, acceptance of all including homosexuals and contemporary worship service. An active children's and marriage ministry would be a great plus! Can anyone give me any recommendations? TIA

My church has that, but our worship service is pretty traditional. (Episcopal - Christ Church in Georgetown.) Maybe St. Columba's in upper NW? I've been to a few contemporary episcopal churches in DC but most weren't as family-oriented. (St. Thomas in Dupont - more singles and gays than families.)

Christ Congregational on Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring, just inside the Beltway. I don't belong but have loved the services I've attended there.

Cedar Ridge Community Church in Burtonsville, MD, crcc.org
It can be a challenge to find a church that is both open and accepting, and also has a contemporary worship service. Cedar Ridge has both.

St. Columba's is your church in AU Park. Hands down. Episcopal, laid back, yet monied, homosexuals are DEFINITELY welcome. Great kids and marriage/family ministry. Great donuts on Sunday--I can't stop eating them.

I'm actually curiosu abotu this too. What do you mean? The "yet" makes me think that you generally feel that "monied" people are not laid back. I really don't get this....
