foot obsession!

Son, about to turn five, is newly obsessed with his feet. Smells them, says they smell yummy, even puts them in his mouth. Thus far we've told him to stop, feet are dirty and they don't belong in mouths, and that it's bad manners.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it?
