What dishes will your kids not eat?

I love risotto, lasagna, paella, enchiladas, but my kids (both under 8) just won't eat them. They eat pretty well over all, but don't like things "mixed together".

Do you add things to your risotto? Just serve it plain. They eat rice don't they?

Mine are the same way. So annoying.

Oh, yes, they eat plain rice, but not risotto even plain. I think it's a texture thing.

My son hates pizza - he will not eat it and will not sit at the table with us while we eat it.

Still can't get my 4 year old into salad. She's interested, and she'll eat whatever vegetables are in it, but doesn't like the lettuce.

When did your kids start eating salad?

DS won't eat pizza either. But he will eat the topping off the pizza. He also won't eat anything with cheese sauce on it, though he loves cheese. And he doesn't like onions.

We have success basically deconstructing salad into its component parts and then offering them a small ramekin of dressing which I call "dipping sauce." So they get a small plate with 1-2 radishes, baby carrots, small red pepper strips, little bits of (whatever). A salad is too intimidating and messy for them. THe lettuce doesn't have any nutritional value really anyway.
