advice for Bright Horizons in DC GW/Foggy Bottom

Anonymous
Does anyone have experience with the Bright Horizons location in Foggy Bottom at GW? I have 2 yr old twins and of course, it's very difficult to find 2 openings anywhere in downtown DC.

Or, if you send your child to any of the BH locations in DC, please post your feedback about their quality of childcare.

Thanks, Kim

The Eye and 17th st location is AWESOME. Everyone there is really great and they have a great program.

i used to live down there and i was not impressed at all with the way the children seemed to be cared for when i saw them on the street. the caretakers all looked miserable and completely ignored the babies. it was so sad.

What daycare is at 17th and Eye? Is it a BH? If so, it does not come up on the BH website. Thanks!

The location that I'm interested in sending my twins is not at 17th & Eye Streets but right at GW's campus at 20th & K Streets. Does anyone have experience specifically with that location? It's near my office.

the GW campus one gives priority to GW community. I heard the wait time is almost 2yrs for non GW community.

we have been on the waitlist there for 2 years and have not heard a thing after they gladly took our deposit.

Hi,
My daughter has been and is still on the waiting list for the BH on 20th and K. I agree with the poster who said that this BH took my deposit and then has not contacted me further. With that said; I was told that one always has to hound the DC day cares to make sure that the staff has your spot on the wait list on their radar. That turned out to be good advice because when the BH located on 9th and NY Ave. had an open spot for this past September the woman at BH on 20th and K put them in touch with me. I ended up turning down the BH spot on 9th because we got my daughter into the Capital Kids on 24th and M and are VERY happy thus far (it has been over a month). There is also a BH on 18th and F that we got a spot in, but we turned that down as well.
It is also worth mentioning that I read poor reviews on this site for Capital Kids, but my husband and I liked what we saw when we visited. I am not saying that the posters of those reviews were wrong, but Cap Kids did not work out for them or for their specific children. We all should know our own needs and our own children and not just trust everything on this site as the ultimate fact.
