Thoughts? I am trying to avoid crowd and also was thinking the weather would be okay but have heard conflicting opinions. |
I went in early March a year and a half ago, and it was perfect. Weather was gorgeous, crowds weren't too bad. Not that you can completely plan this, but a lot of schools have a February vacation (we had February and April when I was growing up). You might be able to tell peak/nonpeak just by the rates at the hotels. |
Things to think about in February:
The Super Bowl is going to be in Tampa on Feb 1 - about 45 minutes from Disney. There are post SB parties scheduled at Disney that next week. Presidents Day weekend is REALLY crowded. Higher rates for President weekend and after apply. We are going in January. Low crowds, value season, and cool weather (hate being hot at Disney.) |
Search the archives. Someone posted that the best times to go are in January, October and one other month. |
While Feb. may not be the absolute best time to go... its still a really good time to go. The crowds are much thinner.
Big drawback: expect it to be cool, and non-swimming weather. Occasionally they'll get a warm snap... but it might well be only in the 50s/60s. But great in terms of crowds. |
but if you stay on property (and many off property) hotels, the pools are heated to 82 degrees! Chilly when you get out, but nice when you are in. ![]() When I lived in Orlando it was consistently in the mid 70s for most of February. It gets chillier at night (high 60s) but nothing a long sleeved tee or light jacket couldn't handle. ![]() |
New poster here. That's good to know about the heated resort pools. My DD loves the water, and watches the blurb on the Disney World DVD about Blizzard Beach and the other water park (I forget its name) over and over. For those who know Orlando weather, how far into the fall can we go and still be able to go to the waterparks - comfortably? |
