Fun restaurants for group?

I'm looking for a fun restaurant for a group of us for my mom's birthday. Something along the lines of Jaleo, Benihana, Melting Pot. Ideally in Northern VA but DC proper would be fine too. Not MD. Thanks for any recommendations!
