I rarely buy or cook potatoes, so forgive me if this is really elementary stuff.
I bought potatoes in December, and there they are still in the vegetable bin of our fridge. I was going to throw them out, but husband says that people used to store potatoes for an entire winter and eat them much longer than 2 months after being picked. Is this right? I'm making burgers tonight and thought I'd fry some potatoes to go along if these are still edible. Thanks in advance! |
| Unless they are green, mushy or REALLY sprouting they are perfectly fine. They do get stored over winter. |
| Thanks! |
| No problem. Enjoy dinner! |

Yes I agree with PP, if they are very green or mushy throw em out. If they are starting to sprout "eyes" I just trim that part away.
But don't store potatoes in the fridge ever!!! You are supposed to keep them in a dark cool place!!! |
