FCPS Young Scholars Program

Can anyone describe what this is? Is it a pull out enrichment? An afterschool program? If your dc attends a school with the program, are they automatically eligible to participate even if they are not a minority or low-income?

Young Scholars is in-classroom full-time. At our school, students are selected for Young Scholars even if they are not a minority or low-income.

We attend a Young Scholars school. We are not in the target minority popluation. In our case, we got a letter a few weeks ago, that DS (K) was found to be a good candidate for enrichment, and will be pulled out weekly to go to Young Scholars. (we had to give permission for him to participate). The AART also does whole class lessons with each K class. (last week, they were talking about earthworms). As far as the timing, I am sure every school is different, as I mentioned we just got a letter a few weeks ago.
