Due to lifestyle and kitchen access constraints, I just don't have time to cook that often anymore. So, if I'm not eating a heated up meal that I previously made, I live on granola and almond milk, with a few bananas thrown in for good measure
I need other "instant foods" that aren't going to break the bank, or rot in my bag by the time I get to eat them (maybe tmi, sorry.) I do have access to a full kitchen, so if you think of something that I can make that last a long time, or is portable, just let me know! p.s. i don't usually eat meat, so it's gotta be veggie please TIA |

Most of these are ok unrefrigerated for most of the day, or bring an ice pack:
Greek yogurt Cheese and crackers (pre-wrapped cheese sticks for convenience) Hummus and crackers or veggies to dip PB&J (or some other nut butter) on hearty bread Nuts Fruit leather or dried fruit Home made trail mixes of some combination of dry cereal, nuts, dried fruit, etc Clementines Soup - either make a big batch and freeze, or look for ones that aren't heavy on sodium and sugar. TJs has some lower-sodium ones in tetrabriks. |
| Luna bars? Not much diff from granola but portable with protein. |

GORP! Okay, its a lot like the granola, but kinda sorta different? Hard cheeses will also last a full day or more in your bag if you forget it overnight. Ditto for veggies like carrot sticks and whole hard fruits...
I really can't think of much that you would cook that would last well forgotten in a bag. I have the same issue, so generally if I put it in my workbag it has to hold up! |
